I challenge you to smile. Why? Because even just a surface smile—one that you don’t necessarily mean—releases chemicals in the brain that help make you happy. Studies have shown that smiling releases endorphins, natural painkillers, and serotonin. It has also been proven that every time we smile, we reinforce happy neural pathways that fire more spontaneously with each following use.

A smile not only makes you feel good, but it also makes other people feel good. Oftentimes we look for gifts to give to the people we love, to make them happy. The best gift any of us can give is not something you can buy in a store. It is a smile.

Smiling is a huge act of giving. You may not even realize the impact a smile can have on someone having a bad day unless you’ve experienced the effects yourself. The contagious nature of smiling is inexplicable. When people smile, they lighten up the room, change the moods of others, and make things happier. Smiling people bring happiness with them.

Smile lots, and you will draw people to you—it makes them feel more comfortable and makes you seem approachable. Smiling draws people in and makes them want to get to know you. (True Education)

Capture that smile on a photo. Digital frames

Is there anything to listening to Mozart’s music and health? Does listening to Mozart’s music have an effect on a person’s IQ? There does seem to be some proof that it does. Time magazine wrote an article about the Power of Mozart that is very interesting reading.

Frances Rauscher, Gordon Shaw and Katherine Ky gave preschool and college students standard tests of spatial reasoning (being able to turn an object in one’s head or to imagine how pieces of a shape fit together). The tests were given after the students had experienced three different conditions for ten minutes: one condition was silence, one was listening to a relaxation tape, another was listening to Mozart’s Sonata for Two Pianos in D Major. Performance on the post-Mozart spatial tests were significantly better.

But, of course, not all scientific experiments are reliable. Every experiment must be proven over and over before it can be accepted as fact. So in 1994, researchers at the University of Auckland examined the effects of listening to Mozart contrasted with other types of music or silence. Seventy-nine college students were divided into three groups. One group listened to Mozart (the same piece used in the ’93 study). Another listened to silence. The third group listened to a piece by Philip Glass—a composer of music based on endless repetitions of patterns. The two latter groups showed no significant increase in spatial IQ. But the Mozart group did! (True Education article)

Simple Stress Reliever Tip

I read this tip for managing stress from a source quoting “Touch for Health.” This simple technique will help you when you become anxious, stressed or upset. It is as simple as placing the fingers to the forehead where many people do instinctively when they’re upset.

If you don’t think that you do this, you can find this area of the forehead by placing your fingers first above each brow. Move up your forehead towards the hair line until you feel the curve of your skull. At the highest point of the forehead is where you want to apply slight pressure and hold.

The article goes on to say while you are holding these points to think about the stressful event. It doesn’t matter if the event has already happen, going to happen or you fear it may happen. As you do this you will find that the stress begins to ease up.

This technique works for small stress up to even more traumatic stress events. If the thoughts of an event are too stressful, the author suggested that you imagine you are watching the event of a black and white television to help defuse what is causing you stress, anger or something that you may be fearful about.

You should do this several times covering the different aspect of the situation that is causing you the difficulties. As you hold on to these forehead trigger points you will begin to feel yourself calming down. Hopefully you may find after a bit you become bored with thinking about it and move on, resulting in stress management.

You may wonder how this works, or why it works. These points on the forehead are known as reflex points and they connect with the portion of the brain that controls the stomach during stress. It helps to prevent the churning in the stomach when stress happens. It appears to help ease any bladder discomfort as well.

For more about stress management check out Essential Oil Diffuser Site. Essential oil has been helpful for many in relieving stress.

Life is governed by laws. There are laws that govern our health that need to be followed. So what are these laws?

“What we need to have it”

In spite of early detection and treatment, heart diseases, cancer and other plagues continue to exact a toll of premature deaths. While millions of others continue to deal with aches, pains and sickness. They are not enjoying the kind of dynamic health that makes it good to be alive.

There is a cause for every effect. People don’t just happen to get sick. So why are so many sick today? There are physical laws of health. When these laws are broken it transgresses these laws and it brings on a penalty. This penalty is sickness or physical suffering of some type. These laws are just as real as the law of gravity and the penalty for breaking these laws are just as real.

There is a book that tells us how to maintain good health. Most people have this book already in their homes but never look to it for advice on health. This book is your bible and the advice is in the Old Testament. At this point many of you may decide this is not where you want to go for that advice and feel that those physical laws don’t matter today. But these laws of health are important guides are still for today in enjoying the benefits of good health. Understanding these and practicing the basic health principles are outline here for all of us. Revealed to us are laws we would not otherwise know if it wasn’t written down for us. Take the time to read through them in your bible found in the book of Leviticus.

There is no reason for us to be struggling along with our daily lives feeling sick or pain. Obeying these physical laws we can begin to bring back the kind of radiant health we all want. The mounting rate of sickness, suffering and death is clearly showing us that we have lost the way to good health. So what are these laws that are affecting our bodies and our lives?

1) A tranquil mind – One of the laws of health is the effect the mind has upon the body. It is becoming increasingly recognized that much of the common ailments we suffer are caused not by the body but by our minds. Headaches, nervousness, indigestion, ulcers, and a host of other ailments have been found to be caused by the mind. Few people today enjoy the sense of contentment and peace of mind needed for good health. There is too much fighting, nagging, and quarrelling in our society today. If you find you are always at odds with your mate or other family or friends you need to learn to relax. Your health depends on it! You need to work at building positive mental habits. Do your part to overcome thoughts of hate, strife and worry. Cultivate your thoughts so that they are thoughts of love and joy. This is the best medicine for all of us.

2) The food we eat ought to build a strong healthy body. Yet so few people have any real knowledge of what they are actually doing to their bodies with the foods they eat or don’t eat. Many of our foods today have been processed to the point that they no longer have the sustaining nutrients that our bodies need. In fact it has been proven that many of these process foods today harm our bodies. They aggravate the digestive system and become a burden for our bodies to eliminate them. They become poisons for our bodies.

Get back to the basics. Eat natural foods that have not been corrupted or processed. Eat a balance diet of foods that do have the elements left in them so they can build health. Prepare your food so that you don’t destroy these elements. Avoid starchy, greasy, sugary substance which may taste good to you but have little to no nutritional value and will only wreck your health later.

Man’s effort to make them last has failed to keep us in good health. White bread, white sugar, pasteurized milk is just a few that has been replaced in our diets and are no longer in the natural state in which they were intended. So the sooner we realize this and start to eat a balanced diet of natural foods intended for us the sooner our health will start improving.

3) Pure drinking water is actually one of our bodies’ greatest means of ridding the poisons from it. It aids in preventing or overcoming constipation that so leads to so many of our bodies problems. Drinking plenty of water daily is needed to keep our bodies healthy.

4) Something that is rarely practice today but has been around since the beginning of the human race is fasting. Governed by instincts, animals refuse to eat when they are sick. They fast until they are well and this is a sure cure provided by nature. Humans however are the only ones who think that they need to be eating when sick. The greatest number of sicknesses is caused by poison in our bloodstreams. Fasting helps the body to cleanse itself of the accumulation of an improper diet. When we stop eating our bodies’ elimination proceeds rapidly to cleanse itself. Fasting is an effective and natural cure.

5) We have all heard someone say that cleanliness is next to Godliness. This principle is certainly correct. Cleansing after coming in contact with one who is likely carrying a disease was written for us in the Old Testament. We today are hearing how important this is with the deadly flu viruses plaguing our country. Regular cleaning of skin, hair, nails and teeth are essential for good health. Waste is also eliminated through the pores and regular cleaning is important.

Keeping yourself clean as well as your clothes that you wear and the home in which you live not only promotes health but will aid in keeping your thoughts on a higher level. Clothing should fit properly and not be tight. Wearing of extremely tight clothing cramps vital organs and weakens the muscles. This often causes physical distress later in life. Your shoes should be comfortable. Shoes can cause your entire body to be out of line if not correctly fitted.

6) Sunshine or fresh air is beneficial to our bodies. We need the sun’s rays to aid in the utilization of phosphorus, calcium and vitamin D. Spend as much time as possible outdoors. While our bodies need the sun’s rays it can also be a danger to us if we get too much too fast. The burning of the skin is where the danger of skin cancer is known to happen.

We need to take the time to step outside and take in a deep breath of fresh air any chance we get. After all breath is life itself. The more we breathe fresh air the more pep we will have. Our color will be brighter and more alert we will become. Do you know that most of us only take in enough air to sustain life but not enough to live life vigorously?

7) Lack of exercise is becoming a way of life for so many today. Look around and see everywhere people who are out of shape. We do not need to have huge bulging muscles either but we do need some kind of program planned for exercise. Exercise helps stimulate deep breathing and will increase the circulation of the blood. This aids in expelling the poisons in our system.

Proper exercise can leave a body energized. Walking is an excellent form of exercise for people of all ages. Few of us today incline to exercise too much but we do need a proper amount to build the kind of radiant health we want to enjoy. It does require an effort but is worthwhile.

8) Nothing can take the place of a good night sleep. We can go longer without food than we can without sleep. Even taking short naps throughout the day can help to recharge our bodies. By depriving ourselves of sufficient sleep we actually accomplish less in our daily lives. Sleep is not a waste of time but too much sleep is not beneficial either. Too much sleep can cause the body to be sluggish and lethargy. It can cause a person to be lazy.

9) We need to avoid reckless behavior. As a nation of reckless and careless people we tend to destroy our bodies through over eating, too much drinking, and smoking. We need to take seriously the risks we are taking when we do such things. We need to resolve these physical risks in our lives that can so easily wreck our well being.

So to sum this all us again we know that we are to quit worrying and arguing to maintain a tranquil mind. Be sure to eat a well balanced diet of natural foods and drink plenty of water to help our bodies’ digestion and avoid constipation. Fast when sick to help the body to speed up the eliminating of toxins in our system. Keep our bodies clean and wear clothing that is suitable for our bodies. Get plenty of fresh air and sunshine. Start exercising and stick with it. We have got to take care of the body we have. Only then can we truly enjoy good health and abundant living.

Olive Oil for Natural Health Remedies

“Only use the best quality”

Olive oil is one of the best natural health products that we can use for our health. That is if it is quality olive oil. When what is used is extra virgin, cold pressed olive oil. But not all is what it seems in the United States and the labeling of some products. Do you know that most of the olive oil that says it is extra virgin, cold pressed is not. It is sad that we are not able to trust everyone to be honest about their products. While you can find some olive oil that truly is extra virgin, cold pressed in the United States you need to do research as to which ones are.

A simple way of doing this with what you already have on hand is to place a couple of tablespoons of your EVCPOO (Extra Virgin Cold Pressed Olive Oil) in a container and place in your refrigerator for a few days. If the oil becomes solid then you know that some type of refinement has been done and your oil is not what it is claiming to be. If you are going to use the oil for cooking this is fine to use. Heat kills the health benefits of the oil so you really do not need a high quality olive oil for cooking. Some may want to differ from this statement and say heat does not destroy everything good in the oil. I would say the lower the heat that you “might” be able to retain something. I still question it though.

But if you are using your olive oil for the health benefits you may be using the oil on salads, to coat some bread, for dipping, etc. You may even be using the olive oil to take on a daily basis for your health. There may be many reasons you want to use olive oil in your diet.

This article is not about what benefits a quality olive oil has for your health, but about finding a quality olive oil. So how can you find a good quality olive oil without having to buy it and bring it how to do the refrigerator test? Usually a quality olive oil is higher in price than others but you may still find a good EVCPOO a little less expensive.

California is one state that’s climate is good for growing olive trees. Because of this you may find some quality olive oil made there. Something to look for is a label that is placed on EVCPOO to ensure that it is what it says it is. The label will have COOC (California Olive Oil Counsel) certified extra virgin. This label doesn’t have to mean it comes from that state but that these companies have volunteer to be tested by them and have meet the standard of a quality olive oil and a promise it is what it says it is. So this label is one of the things to look for. While not all quality olive oil may have this label this is just one way of ensuring you are buying one that is.

Olive oil from Greek or Italy usually can be considered quality oil. Even here I would want something to ensure that it is. Many of them will have a label saying they are authentic and will tell you something about the acid level and the taste. Here again you will get what you pay for. The cheaper the oil the more chance you will run into that it is not what it claims to be. There is a process that has to be done in order to create quality olive oil and it is a timely process. So this will cause the price to be higher than the prices of oil massed produced by machinery and refining.

So once again if you have been using olive oil for the natural health benefits you will want to be using one that is truly extra virgin cold pressed. Using an olive oil that is not cold pressed extra virgin will not give you the health benefits you are hoping to get, but could actually be bad for you like any other hydrogenated oils.
